It Comes In Waves from Talya Stein Rochlin on Vimeo.
“It Comes in Waves” is an interactive installation exploring minimalism in conjunction with cinematic techniques of sound and movement. As the audience approaches the white panels projected black and white squares react in a series of behaviours. The behaviours reflect a guillotine slamming, a flutter of relief, and a rhythmic boom, to mention a few. The sequencing of the behaviours is based on how many times any person has entered or left the space. This allows for a orchestra of movement and sound to occur controlled by the person’s reaction to the installation itself.
MadMapper was used for the projection mapping. The movement in the room was tracked using the kinect, and controlled by Processing. The sound was programmed with MAX.
